Immigration 101: Hiring and Retaining Global Talent

How can immigration help Newfoundland and Labrador employers access the talent they need to grow?
Join Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for an in-person Immigration 101 session designed to help employers, business leaders, and partners better understand Canada’s immigration system and how it supports workforce development.
Delivered by Dylan LaVigne and Kathie Ouellette, Outreach Officers with IRCC’s Dedicated Service Channel (DSC), this session will walk participants through key temporary and permanent immigration pathways including the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), the International Mobility Program (IMP), and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), while highlighting how IRCC supports employers in hiring and retaining international talent.
Attendees will gain practical insights into eligibility requirements, application processes, and government supports available through the Dedicated Service Channel, which provides tailored guidance to employers, organizations, and stakeholders at large.
Whether your organization currently hires internationally or is exploring immigration as a workforce strategy, this 75-minute session offers a clear, actionable introduction to Canada’s economic immigration landscape.
