COIC officially incorporated as an independent, not-for-profit organization effective January 1, 2026, under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act.
(September 12, 2025 – St. John’s, NL) —Today, Co. Innovation Centre (COIC), celebrates a pivotal step towards incorporation as an independent, non-profit entity dedicated to
advancing cross-sector innovation across Newfoundland and Labrador.
COIC is proud to announce the appointment of the Honourable Seamus O’Regan Jr. as the inaugural Chair of its new Board of Directors.
Co. Innovation Centre provides R&D infrastructure, technical validation, and cross-sector convening across NL’s core industrial sectors. Our greatest value is at the intersection.

Our Resident Single Offices provide a quiet, professional environment for individuals seeking a dedicated workspace. These offices are perfect for everyday use, offering privacy while remaining accessible to the larger office community, making them an excellent choice for individuals who value both independence and collaboration. Each office comes equipped with an L-shaped desk and ergonomic chair, creating a focused and comfortable workspace.

Our Event Space is an open-concept area designed for hosting presentations, press conferences, announcements, workshops, and keynotes. Outfitted with a podium, 2 wireless mics, and 2 screens for multimedia presentations, it is ideal for companies looking to showcase ideas or feature guest speakers. This space can accommodate up to 70 people, making it suitable for networking events, small conferences, and speaker sessions.

Our Phase 1 Desk Space offers a flexible and collaborative environment for companies within Newfoundland and Labrador’s critial sectors. Equipped with ergonomic chairs, sit-stand desks, and monitors, it provides a modern, comfortable space for teams to work independently or collaborate with others. The layout encourages interaction and innovation, promoting a dynamic atmosphere where productivity and networking can thrive.
These desks can be used on a full-time or part-time basis, by individuals or small teams.

Our Multipurpose Room is a soundproof, adaptable space tailored for learning, training, and larger sessions. It is regularly booked by companies for classes, workshops, or training sessions. The classroom accommodates 15-30 people, in a setting that balances professionalism with comfort, making it ideal for focused learning. Its flexible design also allows it to function as a meeting room or strategy space, depending on member needs.
Co. Innovation Centre’s Residents can avail of our soundproof pods, offering a quiet, distraction-free space for virtual calls, quiet work, or team/client meetings, ensuring a productive environment whenever required. Individual pods are designed for one person, while group pods can accommodate up to five people, and are outfitted with a monitor with virtual conferencing capabilities.
Co. Café, operated in-house by Co. Innovation Centre, is a vibrant public space where great coffee meets regional innovation. The café spotlights Newfoundland and Labrador’s local food and beverage makers through rotating features and live product testing – serving as a “living lab” for culinary innovation. It’s a welcoming hub for meetings, tastings, and creative connection in the heart of the province’s innovation ecosystem.

Designed for Co. Innovation Centre Residents and companies within the Innovation Ecosystem, the boardroom provides a comfortable and professional environment, with seating for up to 12 people. It features an 86” screen with full audio-visual capabilities, making it perfect for in-person and hybrid meetings and presentations. Whether used for company meetings, strategy sessions, or roundtable workshops, this well-equipped space is designed to support collaboration, and effective communication.
